My Story

Hello world!

I’M TAYLOR. AKA “ONE SALTY MAMA.”

Thanks for joining the Salty Community! I thought we should get to know each other a little bit so let me introduce myself.

If we were treating this like an ice breaker, you might ask me to describe myself in one word… But that’s far too difficult for me.

I’d be using half of the dictionary to describe myself, ok?!

To be really honest with you, I’m still trying to figure that part out. The part of the story where we talk about who we are. But, aren’t we all just going through life trying to figure that out? The only thing I remind myself is this truth:

“I am who God says I am.”

This is a part of my journey of Jesus and self-discovery and the rest that goes along with it. I’m just appreciative to have you along the way.

At this time of my life, I have lots of titles, but here are a few of my favorites:

Most importantly, I’m just a girl after God’s heart. Maybe you are too, or maybe you aren’t. That’s cool too. We love everyone, here.

I’m also a Marine wife of 5 years (oorah). A stay-at-home mom to our 3-year-old daughter (bless). A mompreneur (did I spell that right). Book lady (I’m basically Belle with blonde hair). And an aspiring writer (so thanks for reading if you made it this far).

No matter what title we have in life, we are all on our own journey of self discovery. We not only wonder who we are, but we wonder what is our purpose? I’ve found through pain, beauty, and all the peaks and valleys in between — my purpose is to tell the world my story for the name of Jesus. To show what He has done for me and what he can even do for you.

The journey might hurt along the way. The past can definitely hurt. But the future is so beautiful when we have Jesus in our passenger seat.

I find my hope in the Book of Matthew. Specifically in Matthew 5:13.

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:13‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This verse took me a long time to grasp as many times as I’ve read it, but when I’ve felt the enemy pulling me down, taking my life, and squashing every dream I had — I found hope here. I find it here again and again.

It has made me salty.

The Salty Mama that I always knew I could be.

I’ll tell you why really soon, but for now I’m so excited to have you along on my journey. This is the story I’ll tell…. And I thank YOU for being a part of it.

And remember, stay salty.

Love, Taylor
