7 Beautiful Names the Lord Calls You

The world will do its best to tell you who you are.

The world will tell you that you’re not beautiful enough, that you’re not confident, that you’re not smart, that you’re not brave, that you’re not capable, or even loved. Listening to what the world calls you instead of what God calls you can lead to a life full of fear, anxiety, defeat and self-deprecation.

When I’ve found myself feeling beat down, I had to take a step back and reflect on where I’m finding my identity. In the world? Or in Jesus?

The Bible tells us that once we are saved in Christ, we become a new creature. 2 Corinthians 5:17

A new creature. A new creation. When we accept Jesus into our hearts, our old selves die and our new self comes alive. There is no reason to believe who the world says we are anymore because once we are with God, His Word is the only things that matters. His Truth is the only thing that matters. Every word written in the Bible was lived and breathed by God, and it is our truth that we need to cling to when the world comes at us.

Anne Wilson says it best in her new song, “Hey Girl“:

“Letting everybody and their mother try to tell you what you’re worth,

Oh, what you’re worth.

When did you forget that the one who made you told you what you’re worth?”

Anne Wilson in “Hey Girl”

So sis, when did you forget that THE ONE WHO MADE YOU, tells you what you’re worth?

The world or even the voices inside your head can tell you who you are, or you can listen to who GOD SAYS YOU ARE. It’s time to start living like the woman that God calls you to be. To know these things, we have to look to scripture to know what it is that He calls us.

Below are some of the amazing names God calls you, and names that you have received because you are in Christ. Read over them, meditate on them, pray over them and live your life holding on to this truth.

I pray that they will take in less of the world and more of you. Whatever it is on their hearts today, I pray that You would know their needs and fill their heart with your Spirit.
